Why this site shows live status for every project

2026-10-25

The home page lists every project I run. Next to each one is a dot, and the dot is not decoration: the server pings the project's URL and the dot shows whether it answered.

I did this because a portfolio page is easy to fake. A list of names says nothing about whether the thing still works. A dot that can go red keeps me honest and tells a visitor what is actually running today.

The check is a simple request with a short timeout, cached for about a minute so the page stays fast. If a project has no URL yet, the dot falls back to its declared stage: live, beta, waitlist, building or archived.
